Sons of Korah is the combination of Matthew Jacoby and Rod Gear. Matthew and Rod are responsible together for the compositions and the recordings and most Sons of Korah performances feature them as a duo. They do however perform with a full band from four piece to six piece.
Matthew plays guitar and sings main vocals. He and his wife Kate live in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. Matthew has a bachelor of theology from the Australian College of Theology, a Bachelor of Letters in Philosophy with an Honours degree also in philosophy from Deakin University. Matthew recently also completed his Doctorate at the University of Melbourne. His thesis focuses on the work of Soren Kierkegaard and may loosely be described as a critique of Christian theological thought. Portions of his work have been published internationally and he hopes to explore this field further and apply his work to Christian theological education. Matthew has also done a lot of work in the psalms and is currently working on a book on the psalms (part of which is available on this website).
